In 2016, Empty Head Games had a dream to create a 2D platformer. It would feature hand-drawn artwork and animations to enhance the dark fantasy world. They launched a campaign on IndieGogo to fund the dream and I gladly joined as a backer. That game was Saviorless.
Creating a game in Cuba wasn’t a cakewalk either, there were limited resources, outdated hardware, and limited access to the Internet. The team persevered for eight years and on April 2, 2024, it was officially released on STEAM, Epic, Switch, and PS5 for $12.99.
Saviorless has the player take on the role of Antar, a determined child aspiring to become a Savior. Embarking on an adventure through the Smiling Islands (which is not as happy as it sounds), wielding the power of three unique protagonists. In doing so, the player will unravel a dark narrative of the saviors and the lore.
Josuhe Pagliery of Empty Head Games expressed his heart as an avid gamer who wanted to inspire other indie game makers. I believe this is the first step and would love to see more games from Cuba in the future. It currently has 42 positive reviews on STEAM and an average of 4.65/5 stars on PS5.

Do any of our CHH fans share the same love I do for indie games? Indie games are just like books, without reviews they fall by the wayside. What do you think of Saviorless?
