New York City police say there is a wave of immigrant crime in the city.
And at the city’s largest migrant shelter –
A recent altercation between police and immigrants was caught on camera.
This video was recorded from inside the shelter and posted on social media –
Migrants can also be seen throwing suitcases and large objects at police.
A few seconds later –
Migrants can be seen surrounded by police on the ground.
Police said the immigrant was resisting arrest.
More items are seen being thrown.
The migrant was asked to leave after the shelter said he shouldn’t be there and was struggling with security guards.
The struggle to arrest the migrants lasted several minutes.
The officers grabbed him by the arms and legs and carried him out.
In the NYPD, more objects fly toward the door before they can see it.
The immigrant was arrested, but prosecutors refused to proceed with the case, according to people who spoke to the New York Post.
This altercation between immigrants and police happened last Thursday.

This is not an isolated incident at the Randall Island Refuge –
Several other altercations resulted in police presence at the facility.
Since the beginning of this year —
A migrant was stabbed to death by another migrant in a food line.
Two weeks later, a security guard was stabbed in the neck but survived.
Eighteen migrants were detained after the incident.
An inebriated immigrant was arrested after struggling with police –
One police officer was injured and taken to the hospital.
These are some of the events that took place on the island.
Another altercation caught on camera in Times Square drew national attention after immigrants attacked police officers on the street.
Police warn of an increase in immigration-related crimes, but
New York City Mayor Eric Adams says the majority of them are not part of the problem.

“The overwhelming majority of immigrants in our custody came to our city in search of a better life and the American Dream. We will not disrupt the journey of the remaining immigrants in our custody.” A small number of people will commit acts of violence and be subject to enforcement to the fullest extent of the law.”
