Our community is full of people who do good work. These are just some of us.
The Seeds of Change Resource Foundation did a great job of sponsoring a special presentation Saturday at the Natchez City Auditorium honoring Black women in history who have changed the world for the better.
In addition to nationally known heroes like Harriet Tubman and Rosa Parks, this presentation will feature the likes of Police Chief Caroline Greene, Judge Mary Lee Toles, Judge Lily Blackmon Sanders, Sadie V. They told us about many notable women from or connected to Natchez. Thompson, Susie Ethel B. West, Leto Grace Dumas, and many others.
Congratulations everyone.

Also great job was Joseph Smith of BlackNatchez.org who organized Saturday’s Black History Parade and Celebration. From the sidelines of the parade, it was clear that everyone was having a great time.

Registration is underway for the inaugural Natchez Youth Sports Baseball League and season.
This league replaces the now defunct Dixie Youth Baseball League and TM Jennings League.
Natchez Youth Sports is a division of the Natchez Parks and Recreation Department.
Nearly 100 players have registered, but the league can accommodate up to 400 players between the ages of 3 and 12.
Ryan Porter, the city’s parks and rec director, said 20 coaches have signed up to participate and more than a dozen sponsors are interested in participating.
The deadline for online registration is March 1st, and the in-person registration event is scheduled for Saturday, March 2nd at the Sports Center in Natchez.
