Mark your calendars, everyone.
Pennsylvania Business Women will hold its “Powerful Women Leading the Way” conference on April 18th and 19th at the Penn Stater Hotel. This conference is held in partnership with Smeal College of Business.
This conference provides an opportunity for women to learn about the obstacles they may face throughout their career paths, and provides practical advice for developing strengths and approaching the workforce with positivity and a desire to learn.
“It’s a two-day opportunity to network with top women in business professionals, hear from them, and gain knowledge on how to develop your skills,” said Women in Business member Amy Meriwether. “It’s a great opportunity to step into the business world. It’s also an easy way to get to know other members of Women in Business.”
This year’s overall theme is “Believe in You.” This event focuses on bringing together established women leaders, young professionals, and students looking for inspiration for their careers.
This opportunity allows attendees to share their business experiences through networking sessions and hear from business leaders and keynote speakers in a variety of panels and breakout sessions. Keynote speakers at this event include Liz Murray and Angela Shakur.
Women In Business hosts many events throughout the semester to foster professional development, networking, meeting new people, and supporting the community. The group accomplishes its goals by focusing on leadership, community service, networking, and professional development.
“Last year, I joined this conference on a whim because I didn’t think it would be something for freshmen to attend. I was so glad I was able to do so because I didn’t leave with any inspiration. ” said member Lena Montalbano. “It’s a great way to connect with many women in the professional world and colleagues at Penn State who are just as passionate about business as you are. Our breakout sessions will help you learn.”
“The women here are all very keen to support each other’s career journeys and are always willing to exchange LinkedIn and contact information to help conference attendees advance.” Member Malena Nassif continued. “In my personal experience, hearing different perspectives and stories has helped me relieve a lot of stress as I tend to get very overwhelmed with thoughts of my future career. , is the perfect reminder to all of us that there is no one right career path and nothing can stop you from carving your own path in your career.”
The conference is open to everyone, and Penn State students receive discounted rates.Anyone who wants to register can do so here.
