The editor of a soccer news website run by a local publisher has left his job to take a senior position at a global betting company.
Sean Martin has announced his departure from Celtic Way, a sister publication of Newsquest’s daily newspaper The Herald, which covers Glasgow-based Celtic Football Club.
Sean, pictured, will leave after a year as editor of The Celtic Way to join LeoVegas, overseeing the betting company’s sports content.
However, I plan to continue writing columns for TCW after I retire.
Sean told HTFP: “I am incredibly proud of the work we have produced at Celtic Way during my tenure and have grown the website in every way, allowing us to provide what is, in my opinion, the highest quality Celtic coverage. .
“Whilst I will no longer be editing the title, I am delighted to have been offered a column in which I will continue to regularly provide my own insight and analysis about the club as I tackle my new role.
“With a talented team of contributors in place and continued material growth across the board, I am confident that whoever replaces me will inherit a great platform to take TCW to the next level. Become.”
Sean trained at Glasgow Caledonian University before joining Aberdeen Press & Journal in 2014.
He held various positions at P&J, including Digital Sports Journalist and Deputy Sports Editor, before being hired by Celtic Way in summer 2021.
I started out as a digital journalist, but after seven months I was promoted to editor of a subscription-based title.
