News organizations and civil society organizations based in Southeast Asia can apply for this grant to enhance their coverage of infrastructure development.
With support from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, Internews’ Earth Journalism Network (EJN) has launched one project to support media and journalism efforts that strengthen media coverage, transparency, and accountability. Four organizations are offering grants averaging $20,000 each. On the impact of infrastructure projects in Southeast Asia.
The grant welcomes applications proposing activities that aim to improve media content and build the capacity of journalists and public content producers on infrastructure development and associated threats to the environment and human rights.
The project will focus on improving participants’ technical skills and contextual knowledge necessary to conduct gender and socially inclusive media research and reporting on local, national and regional climate and environmental issues arising from infrastructure development. It is expected that you will hit it. Applicants can create stories and training resources in local languages appropriate for their target communities.
Priority will be given to applications from news organizations and CSOs based in Timor-Leste, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Brunei.
