A local daily newspaper has featured the ‘Fleet Street’ space in a new Monopoly version set in a national park.
The Southern Daily Echo took home the honor for its New Forest edition of the property-based board game, which was launched last Thursday.
The Southampton-based Daily Echo followed in the footsteps of a number of regional titles and highlighted regional versions of games that local newspapers were looking for.
After last year’s board presentation, members of the public were asked to send suggestions to the board.
Echo editor Ben Fishwick told HTFP:
“Our Forest coverage is read by thousands of people online and in print and is led by long-time New Forest correspondent Chris Yandell.
“This is a beautiful place to work and live, and it’s great to be near so many landmarks and businesses that call the forest home.”
Ella Gibbs of Winning Moves UK, creator of the New Forest edition, told the Echo: We would like to thank everyone for their cooperation during the public consultation process. ”
Other regional titles featured on ‘Fleet Street’ in recent years include MK News, Wolverhampton Express & Star, Kentish Gazette and Hull Daily Mail.
