TOKYO INDIE GAMES SUMMIT, the digital and in-person Japanese event showcasing developers and indie games from both local talent and around the world, grew its 2023 attendance levels by 45% with 4500 visitors during this year’s 2-day indie extravaganza in Kichijoji, Tokyo.

Panel discussions filled with legendary gaming industry figureheads filled the weekend, including Touhou Project creator Jun’ya “ZUN” Ōta and Japanese game developer/comedian Noda Crystal, who discussed life as an indie game developer. Sony Interactive Entertainment, SACRA MUSIC, and indie publisher Phoenixx took a glimpse at the future of indie game music, and Digital Hearts showcased the next generation of AI localization.
