Newspapers have shaped Louisiana’s rich history for hundreds of years. Today on Louisiana Considerations, two of his experts from the Historic New Orleans Collection discuss the upcoming event, “Above the Fold: A History of Louisiana Newspapers.”

Plus, hear from women who are pioneers in newspaper publishing. Eliza Jane Nicholson was a small-town poet born in Mississippi in the 1840s who later became the first female publisher of a metropolitan newspaper. Picayune In New Orleans.
