The deadline for entries for this year’s Regional Press Awards has been extended by a week due to an “overwhelming response”.
After receiving many requests for an extension, organizer Haymarket has decided to extend the entry period by one week.
Entries must be submitted by midnight on November 30th before the judges will begin scoring.
The 2023 awards are for work carried out in the past 12 months and will be awarded at a ceremony in London in April 2024.
Three new categories were announced at the event: Opinion Writer of the Year, Crime/Investigative Reporter of the Year, and Best Live Coverage, for a total of 21 categories.
HoldtheFrontPage is once again a partner of this award, sponsoring the Front Page of the Year category.
Judging and shortlisting will take place during December and the shortlist will be announced on January 17th.
The jury will be chaired by Alison Goh, who recently retired from Reach after holding various senior roles, and former Northern Echo editor Peter Sands.
