The ID@Xbox team at Xbox has announced a new initiative, Indie Selects, aimed at showcasing the best indie games on Xbox, featuring new collections and monthly picks.
As part of this program, the ID@Xbox team will select a new themed collection of featured indie games that will be updated every Wednesday on new channels on the Xbox Store and Xbox Dashboard.
The Featured Indies channel will spotlight the latest releases, while other channels may focus on games from different parts of the world, new creators, ID@Xbox sales, imminent indie games that can be waitlisted or preordered, and weekly themes such as Games for Evil Villains, or Games to Play With Your Cat.
Furthermore, the ID@Xbox team will vote to choose the top six indie games every month, which will be announced in the last week of the month along with the digital awards for their creators.
You will see more about Indie Selects in the highlighted section on the Xbox Store & Xbox Dashboard and can check out more information on the social media channels.
If you want to learn more about why each game was chosen, you can check out a dedicated article on Xbox Wire to get the juicy details.
Speaking of the newest releases, Indie twin-stick shooter Go Mecha Ball was made available on Xbox Game Pass starting on January 25, 2024.
The bottom line is that Indie Selects seems to be a game-changer for both players and developers. You can get your hands on the latest Indie games without doing extensive research and if you are a creator, it is your ticket to gain visibility in the gaming community.
