Players who choose to appear in the new EA Sports College Football video game scheduled for release this summer will receive $600 as part of a name, image and likeness rights deal.
That means more than 11,000 college football players will have a chance to not only play in games, but also earn money. According to EA Sports, these players will also get a free copy of the game as part of the deal.
Players will appear in games as long as they are on the roster, whether they transfer or not, and will be paid on an annual basis based on those factors. Players can also opt out of the game when future editions of the game are released if they wish.
To compete in a game, a player must have an official university email to receive opt-in paperwork, and once the player is confirmed on the roster, he or she will appear in the game.
