“I have known Regan Tate for over 24 years and have worked for and with her during that time,” Reinisch said.

Director Lynette Schneider said Tate has been pivotal in supporting local reporting and its importance during her tenure at CHAT News.
“Reagan was a steadfast supporter of local journalism and championed its principles and ideals during his time at CHAT,” Schneider said.
“She has served as a mentor to many talented young reporters who have gone on to serve larger markets nationally and internationally,” she said.
“Her legacy will be the way she guided our newsroom during significant events like the 2013 floods. She always wanted to tell stories from a Medicine Hat perspective. I wish her every success in her next chapter and look forward to seeing her around Medicine Hat.”
Sports reporter and occasional anchor Lisa Parent praised Tate’s leadership.
“Regan has served as an extremely effective and confident leader in the CHAT newsroom,” Parent said.
“Her obvious passion for capturing stories that touched the Hatters’ hearts was an inspiration to those around her, especially the young journalists she mentored. I wish Regan to excel in all her future endeavors. I am confident that we will achieve great results.”
Digital editor Eli Ridder said he learned a lot through Tate’s guidance.
“I only knew Regan for a short time, but I learned a lot from her about what stories matter and how to cover trials,” Ridder said.
For Adrian St. Onge, Tate was a guide and mentor as he embarked on a new career in journalism.
“Regan came here as my first step on a sometimes scary and uncertain career path,” St. Onge said.
“She never wavered in her support of me, both publicly and privately, and was someone I could always count on for constructive criticism and support. I can honestly say that my career will forever be influenced by her leadership. , I have grown into a better broadcast professional because of her,” he added.
