A group of local newspapers are supporting a major charity’s Christmas campaign on the patch.
Newsquest supports Ormiston Families Stronger Together Support Group in Cambridgeshire, which supports parents of children with additional needs and disabilities.
The group’s Cambridgeshire title has been sharing the stories of parents affected by the service in a celebratory five-week campaign.
Magazines involved in the initiative include Cambs Times, Hunts Post, Ely Standard and Wisbech Standard.
Stronger Together Team Supported by Newsquest
Cambridgeshire Group editor Debbie Davies said the service was doing important work and readers had already donated more than £1,000 to help.
She said: “The support that Stronger Together Group provides to parents is invaluable and definitely deserves more attention.
“By supporting the Ormiston Families Christmas Campaign, we are shining a light on the often overlooked challenges faced by parents in our community.
“We are extremely proud to support this campaign and are delighted with the positive response to the stories we have shared so far and hope to raise as much money as possible.”
Funds raised will go toward new sensory toys and resources for the children who participate in the group.
Andrew Fitchett, Head of Communications and Engagement at Ormiston Families, thanked Newsquest for its support.
