Registration begins March 11thth for 2024 FOLLOW ME INTO BUSINESS® Summer Job Program Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Programs
Applications must be received by Friday, April 19, 2024 at 12:00 p.m.
JACKSON, TN – Enroll in the “Follow Me Into Business® Summer Jobs Program” and “Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)” Program Sponsored by the Jackson-Madison County African American Chamber of Commerce (“JMCAACC”) starts on Monday, March 11th. Spring break begins in 2024. Youth ages 12 and 18 living in Jackson and Madison counties are eligible to participate in either program held in June and July.
During spring break, March 11-15, parents can pick up applications at the African American Chamber of Commerce office located at 351-C North Royal Street from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Masu. Application forms can also be downloaded from the Chamber of Commerce website (www.jmcaacc.org). Space is limited. For consideration, All applications must be returned by 12pm on Friday, April 19th at the latest. 2024.
The Follow Me Into Business program offers free business training, shadowing and mentoring opportunities for 12- to 15-year-olds, and select paid summer jobs for 16- to 18-year-olds. I am. Program orientation will be held in May. STEM programs focus on concentrating in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Founded in 2002, Follow Me Into Business®’s youth development and career readiness program is designed to train middle school and high school students for success in the business world. Since its inception, nearly 800 young people have participated.
The Summer 2024 Follow Me Into Business program will be held every Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. from June 3 to July 26. The STEM program will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. daily from July 15 to 26. Meetings will be held at the JCM Early College High School located at 215 Allen Avenue or at a pre-arranged designated location. A closing ceremony will be held for participants from both programs and one next of kin to attend.
