Earlier this week, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco joined other Sacramento lawmakers in supporting several new bills dealing with public safety.
Bianco told NewsChannel 3’s Peter Daudt that one of the bills would allow judges to hand out harsher penalties for criminals who use guns.
He believes Californians have had enough and it’s time to crack down on rising crime.
“Criminals in our country are spoiled, and punishment is pretty much zero. I’m not saying we all have to go to prison, but we’re going to abolish the low-crime policies we have in place right now in Sacramento. ‘And start holding people accountable,” Bianco said in an in-depth interview with Peter Daudt.
During the interview, Bianco also said, “The fact is, we’re on the cusp of terrible, bad policy that’s come out of Sacramento over the last dozen years, and nothing that’s actually helped us. They… Every law that they come up with is going to do real harm.” We have the ability to keep our residents safe. ”
