For junior Aidan Gillings, this will be his fourth consecutive appearance at the state championship. Gillings fell just short of the state title at last year’s championship and is looking for revenge with a state title this year.
“We want to represent and protect. [Newfane] “All three of us have worn this brand on our hearts since we were young,” Gillings said. I plan to come back stronger than last year. ”

The women’s basketball team had a difficult season due to injuries to key seniors. Despite the injuries, the team is aiming to win the section title.
“It’s going to be special, especially for the seniors, because we’ve all worked so hard,” senior guard Mallory Schultz said. “We’ve had some injuries in the past, but a lot of guys have stepped up. It’s going to be a really great experience to play at Buff State.”
The boys team has nine seniors, many of whom have played together since elementary school. Now in the final stages of their careers, they hope to get through their final year by winning a section title.
“That’s all we’ve been working towards. We go into the season wanting to win a championship and we also want to put up a banner,” senior guard Landon Braman said. “We have always been [in the section semifinals] All three years I’ve played. So this year, with this group of seniors, the guys I’ve been playing with since my junior and senior years, and some of my best friends, I’m hoping that we can finally get it done this year.”
