Today’s anchor talks about faith: ‘God is present’

The “TODAY” show anchors discussed what their faith means to them and how they came to have a relationship with God.
For Al Roker and Hoda Kotb, their faith really took off when they had children. Their desire for their children to have a strong foundation and someone they could trust to keep them safe led the hosts to draw closer to the Lord.
“I think my faith has evolved. But it really does when those kids come. That’s right. I always remember my mom saying, ‘God, give me strength.’ Masu. And yes, I hear those words,” Roker said. “But it’s important to give [your kids] Its foundation. ”
“I feel like my path to faith has evolved throughout my life,” Kotb added. “Every day I keep a little diary and write, ‘Dear God, thank you for this precious day.’ And I feel God all the time, now more than ever.”
“He was someone I used to be mad at. For example, when my dad died, I was mad at him,” Kotb continued. “Suddenly, eventually, I’m sitting here with my two children and I think to myself, God is sitting here in the presence of God. I bend my knees and give him Haley and Hope. I asked, and they came.”
Like Kotb, Craig Melvin and Carson Daly found God in their hearts after the death of a close relative.
“The closest I was to God was when I fought hard. [Savannah was] “I was there one morning before the show when I got the call that my brother was missing,” Melvin said. “I kind of knew it would happen someday, but I said to myself, maybe it won’t. I’m in my dressing room right now, and who’s going to come in first? The guy who wrote that book. [Savannah]. She came in and we prayed. And it was exactly what I needed at that moment. I didn’t know I needed that. ”
“My parents died six weeks apart,” Daley added. “It was a very difficult time. My mother suddenly passed away. At that moment, you either get angry at God, or you realize that without God’s strength I could not have survived.”
Their conversation took place shortly after Guthrie published his book, “What God Does: Reflections on the Search and Discovery of God’s Love Everywhere.”
“I need my foundation. I need my centering. I need the confidence that God has given me deep within,” she told Parade about her faith.
It’s encouraging to see these anchors be vulnerable about their faith and share their journey with God with fans of the show to help them find Christ.

Savannah Guthrie, co-anchor of NBC’s TODAY show, is not ashamed of her relationship with Jesus and teaches her children to rely on God’s Word.
“I think sometimes people are surprised that my faith means so much to me,” Guthrie said in an interview with Guidepost writer Celeste McCauley. “But I think it’s becoming less and less true because I’ve talked about this so many times in public. If I’m asked, I’ll talk about it.”
Furthermore, she added: “I love to talk about my faith. I love to talk about God’s love. I love to talk about how we all struggle and are on this journey together. ”
Guthrie’s love for God began at an early age when a cousin encouraged her to memorize Psalm 23, which remains with Guthrie to this day.
