A TV anchor struggled to hold back tears as he announced his colleague’s alleged murder.
This week, police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon was charged with the murders of missing TV presenter Jesse Baird, 26, and her boyfriend Luke Davies, 29.
Lamarre-Cordon allegedly murdered his ex-girlfriend Baird and flight attendant Davies at Baird’s home in Paddington, Sydney, on Monday.
The couple had been missing for several days and police said they were extremely concerned after finding their bloody belongings in the skip.
The body has not yet been found and police have not confirmed the cause of death.
Friends and colleagues of Mr Baird, who worked at Channel Ten, have paid tribute to him since police confirmed they were now investigating his murder.
But newsreader Narelda Jacobs became emotional when it came to breaking the news that her former colleague had likely been murdered.
Narelda read out the latest news with a heartbroken expression, stumbling over her words several times and having to take deep breaths to finish the broadcast.
At the end of her report, she added: “Both are much-loved men with a wide range of loved ones, family and friends who adore them.
“Of course Luke has some very supportive employees at Qantas, he was a flight attendant, as well as Jesse at AFL and here at Channel 10.”

“Our thoughts are with their loved ones, their colleagues, their friends and their families at this extremely traumatic time.”
Narelda shared the clip on Instagram after the news broke, writing: “On my darkest day, I salute these two beautiful men.”
“Jesse Baird and Luke Davies will forever be in our hearts.
“This shocking news was delivered in a trembling voice shortly after the police complaint.”

It added: “Our thoughts are with Jesse and Luke’s families, their friends and colleagues at Channel 10, the AFL and Qantas. Our hearts are broken.”
The station was subsequently flooded with messages of support, with MasterChef judge Melissa Leon writing: “Sending love.” We felt you every second. ”
“Sending you my love Narelda. You’ve done a great job of reporting, no matter how hard it must have been,” former Bachelor star Abbie Chatfield said.
Drag Race star Queen Kong added: “I literally just met Luke last week.” My heartfelt condolences to the families of these two angels. They deserve more than that! ! ! ! ! ! ”

Two years ago, Narelda also had to report the shocking murder of her young nephew, Cassius Turvey.
Just 15 years old, he was attacked on his way home from school in Perth, with then Prime Minister Anthony Albanese saying the incident was “clearly racially motivated”.
“Cassius is my nephew, and when I look at the pictures from home, that’s my whole family,” Narelda said, choking on tears as she continued to speak during the broadcast.
The four people charged with his murder are scheduled to go on trial next year.
