The Xbox app on PC, the gateway for PC Game Pass and purchasing games on the Microsoft Store, will be updated with more features.
The app now has more ways to discover games. Rather than just have an RNG show you a random Game Pass game, there’s now “tell us what you like” method to narrow down the selection of what games the app recommends.
Also, there’s a new Trending collection that highlights the game currently popular in the region. So you can get an idea of what folks around you are currently playing.
Apparently in Malaysia, at the time of writing, folks are mostly playing Valorant and the many different Yakuza/Like A Dragon games currently available on Game Pass.
The sidebar is now simplified with only recent games that are installed or played, rather than having all the games you install being there. The full list is now viewable in My Library, which now includes various filters to sort through the games including games with ray tracing, games with controller support and more.
The Xbox app on PC will get these features soon to everyone. Currently, it’s being tested by folks who signed up as Insiders (essentially, beta testers) which you can do so here.
PC Game Pass will be expanding to 40 more countries around the world this year, after successfully expanding to Southeast Asia last year.
