hyderabad: A female entrepreneur who was planning to marry a newscaster of a national television channel was arrested by Uppal police on Friday for allegedly kidnapping him, locking him up in a room and threatening him.
Trisha, who runs a digital marketing business, had seen anchor Pranav’s photo on a famous matrimonial site and became interested. Unfortunately, the situation became more complicated as cyber criminals had created a fake ID for her in Pranav’s name.
Police said that despite the misunderstanding, Pranav sincerely reciprocated Trisha’s feelings. However, Trisha, who had a strong desire to marry Pranav, resorted to kidnapping Pranav.
Police said Trisha, who is involved in five start-ups and is known to own considerable wealth, orchestrated the kidnapping because she was infatuated with Pranav.
On February 11, she and her accomplices kidnapped Pranav, locked him in a room and forced him to marry him. However, he manages to escape from Trisha’s confinement and immediately seeks help from the police.
Uppal police intervened and arrested Trisha, after which she was remanded.
